Germany, WW II GERMAN CROSS IN GOLD This is a cloth version of the Geran Cross in Gold. The wreath is not made of metal, but also of high quality bullion workmanship. This is correct and examples existed as per Niemann's catalog. The backing is for the TROPICAL tunic, with a TAN backing...which is VERY RARE! Nice example, that shows minimum wear. Catalog price for that rare cross is mark "LP". It is mean that cross is very rare. Reference: Detlev Niemann "Price Guide. Orders and decorations Germany" 2004, page 539, # 7.04.10 (p).
