KREISSIEGER - VICTORS BADGE in the NATIONAL TRADE COMPETITION 1939 Very nice genuine VICTORS BADGE in the NATIONAL TRADE COMPETITION 1939. Heavy bronze-plated badge features a national eagle with outstretched wings clasping a cogwheel in its talons. On the cogwheel is a red/white enamel Hitler Youth insignia with black enamel swastika. Eagle is attached to a round white enamel badge with oak leaf border and inscribed, "Kreissieger 1939". Reverse badge is maker marked "G. BREHMER, MARKHEUKIRCHEN". Badge is complete with barrel-hinged wide, flat pin. Included with the badge is a postwar period style black leatherette case with white padded interior lid with lower fitted portion covered in black velvet. Nice, heavy quality Kreissieger badge recently obtained in Germany. Reference: Detlev Niemann in "Price Guide. Orders and decorations Germany", 2004, page 347. Condition is XF. Germany, WW II Genuine Luftwaffe Air Gunners German BADGE This early example is a period radio operator's badge that was jeweler modified to remove the lightning bolts after the institution of the air gunner's/flight engineer's badge on 22 June 1942. This quality example shows superb detail to the silver wreath which shows light surface wear with age patina and to the eagle which shows light wear to the factory darkening on the highlights of the wings. Nice mid war solid two piece issue badge marked with maker to reverse. Badge is complete with barrel-hinged needle-style pin with dark age patina to the reverse wreath.
