BREAST STAR of the White Eagle EXTREMELY RARE, especially in XF condition!. Originally Polish Order, it was founded by King Vladislav I in commemoration of his son's marriage in 1325. However, only in 1705 the Order was brought back to life, and became the Highest Polish Award, after being conferred upon Peter the Great by Polish King August II on November 1, 1705. When Poland was annexed to Russia after the Napoleonic War of 1812, the Order became incorporated with other Russian Orders, not only after February 4, 1921, it was yet again revived for solely Polish use. The Order had one class and was awarded for services in both Civil and Military divisions. It could come with diamonds (for exceptional services), military type insignia came with swords. Star for Order White Eagle /only one class/ from 1800-1830.Diam 4 7/8 inch(125mm). Tissue, gold and silver embroidery on line.
