Ninety-third Irkutsk Infantry Regiment
Badge of a Graduate of the 2nd Kiev Nicholas Artillery School, Type 2,
1916-1918. Silver gilt, enamels. Extraordinary quality of details, high vaulted
and complex construction.
White St. Andrew cross is topped with Nicholas II cipher, separate part intricately attached to the cross without visible seams. Superimposed in the center is gold-plated double-headed eagle with the crown and ribbon bearing the inscription "Year 1914" - the year when the school was established. Covering the chest of the eagle is shield with iconic portrait of St. Tsarina Alexandra. 54mm x 34mm. Reverse shows Kiev assay mark "84" with "Kokoshnik" and Gamma, with additional round "Kokoshnik" hallmark. Also shows maker mark "2KA" (Second Kiev Jewelry Workshop). Very fine to excellent condition. Shows wear to some of the highest points such as the portrait on the shield and raised edge of the eagle's wings. Overall, fine details of the artwork are very well preserved and demonstrate exceptional quality of the badge. Most of the original gilt on the eagle is present. Enamel is in nicely preserved, with minor flaking in few spots, mostly to the red edges of the cross. Comes with original silver screw plate marked "Kiev, 12 Kreschatik. 2nd Jewelry Workshop". Russia, imperial Alexis Military SCHOOL BADGE Beautiful Imperial Russian Badge Alexis Military School. This badge measures approximately 43 mm from cross tip to cross tip and about 56 mm from top to bottom. The badge depicts a two-headed eagle upon a red enameled cross with crossed swords surmounted by an imperial crown. On the eagle’s chest is a letter "A". At the bottom of the cross is a date of 1864. The reverse reveals a central threaded post with a circular device for attaching to a uniform. The overall condition of the badge is excellent. |

Russia, imperial Award Badge of the Imperial Russian Firefighting Benevolent Society, by Eduard, early 1900s. In silver. Est. 1901. Shows monogram of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, the honorary chairman of the association. Beneath the monogram is beautifully sculptured rendition of a fireman's helmet with Imperial eagle, and crossed axes. Minute maker mark "Eduard" to the side of the pin. Russia, imperial Badge for Guardianship of Peoples Sobriety, by Reihard, circa late 1890s. Est. 1895. Bronze gilt, enamels. Multi-piece riveted construction, with beautifully sculptured, superimposed wreath of oak leaves and acorns at the bottom, and superimposed Imperial double-headed eagle in high relief in the center. Beautiful enamel quality. Large 57mm x 43mm size. Condition is very fine to excellent overall, with a single chip to green enamel under the left wing of the eagle, mostly not penetrating to the metal. Fire-gilt to the eagle and the wreath is still present. Pin shows stamped maker mark "O. Reichard". /See "Badges of Russia", Patrikeev and Bojnovich, page 151, fig. 3.4/.
