Germany, WW I 1914 Screwback Iron Cross 1st Class This quality, private purchase, unmarked, vaulted Iron Cross, recently obtained in Germany, shows light age patina with much factory lacquer remaining on the silver frame with minor wear to the well detailed border and to the Prussian crown and two specks of wear to the center "W", but no lifting or bubbling to the black enameled Iron center. Reverse Cross shows light age wear to the factory lacquered finish and is complete with smooth, circular back plate and separate retaining nut with serrated edge. Both screw plate and retaining nut show light age patina. |

Germany, WW I Cased 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class This quality flat issue pattern Cross shows light age patina to the silver frame and minor wear to the well detailed border and to the highlights of the Prussian crown, "W" and date "1914" on the black enameled Iron center. Reverse Cross shows light age patina and is complete with barrel hinged wide flat unmarked pin. Reverse Cross is maker marked below the pin catch, "KO". Black leatherette hinged case featuring a silver facsimile imprint of the Iron Cross on the exterior lid shows minor surface wear to the leatherette and to the silver imprint. Interior lid is covered in padded artificial silk with the lower fitted portion covered in off-white velvet. Nice 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class recently obtained in Germany. |

Germany, WW II 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class This private purchase screwback example recently obtained in Germany grades excellent++/Near MINT showing only light age patina to the silver frame. Reverse and center ribbed screwback plate with only faint wear to the black finish on the swastika and the "1939" date on Iron center. Reverse upper Cross arm features a metal "push pin" to prevent the cross from rotating on the uniform. |
