Germany, WW II Miniature Army Officer Dagger w/White Grip and Portepee Dagger measures approximately 8 1/4" in length and features a white painted metal grip. Heavily silvered fittings appear not to have been cleaned. In fact, there is some beautiful age patina to the top of the crossguard and around the top of the pommel. Plated blade is bright, grades excellent++ and has its blue buffer pad intact. Heavily silvered scabbard is dent-free and has its small rings present. Nice definition to the pebbled panels. Attached to one of the rings is a metallic cord portepee with metal ball. Portepee shows much toning. This is a very clean example of a miniature Army Officer dagger! Dagger originated in Germany from one of the original factory workers of the Alcoso firm, who was employed during the late 1930s. |
