COMMEMORATIVE ARMY ZEPPELIN BADGE
SILVER COMMEMORATIVE ARMY ZEPPELIN BADGE in Full Size. It presents an excellent patina and fine detail on the obverse. The reverse shows the badge was manufactured by the well-known Berlin firm, C. E. Juncker. It is marked 925 for silver content shown on the badge. The Army Commemorative Airship Badge (more popularly termed the Army Zeppelin Badge) is among the most prized of the flight qualification badges. It is referred to as a commemorative badge because it was introduced in the early 1920's, after the end of WW I. This badge has a number of interesting features. First, it was the only Army flight badge issued as a silver or silver-toned badge. All other Army flight badges were issued in gilt. The Army Zeppelin Badge is identical to the Navy Zeppelin Badge, except for the Hohenzollern Crown. The latter appears on the Navy badge, whereas the Army badge is uncrowned. Both the Navy and Army Zeppelin badges could be termed "horizontal" rather than "vertical" badges. It features a zeppelin centered within a wreath, thus the need for a horizontal format. Orders and decorations Germany" 2004, page 162 put 1500 EURO for that nice badge. According Detlev Niemann (page 39) the box itself with maker mark "C.E. Juncker" cost 400 EURO, other maker marks cost 250 EURO. Total catalogue price for this item is 1900 EURO ($2300). . |

Germany, WW I ZEPPELIN JUBILEE BADGE. This oval-shaped badge commemorates flights to South America in 1933. A zeppelin flies serenely over a blue and black enamel ocean. The badge is in decent condition and is marked on the back. If the winning bidder would like to clean up the medal, it would clean up very nicely!! Germany, WW I BLOOD ORDER FIRST PATTERN This is a VERY rare award. The first pattern award was issued to only the first 1000 recipient. The Blood Order, or as it was officially known, the decoration of 9 November 1923, was one of the most prestigious decorations. Instituted in March 1934, the medal is solid silver, AND DIE STRUCK, not cast as the fakes. It is also hallmarked "900" for the silver content number, and has the recipients number "411". The medal has exterior corrosion, and tarnish, which I have not touched. If the winning bidder would like to clean up the medal, it would clean up very nicely!! Also included is the full length ribbon. I HAVE THE RECIPIENTS NAME AND INFORMATION, which I will give to the winning bidder. Photo is only for sample. Reference: Detlev Niemann in "Price Guide. Germany, WW I Imperial German Naval Pilot Badge - Maker Marked Imperial German Naval Pilot Badge - Maker Marked (Air Force Badge of the German Kriegsmarine for Naval Pilots on Seaplanes). 100% old and original. A wonderful item. Very rare !!! The Insignia is almost 2-7/8" in overall size from the tip of the crown to the base of the bow. The badge is of one piece, solid construction with a tapered pin. The badge is gold plated over a silver metal base and is maker marked. Absolutely scarce military aviation and NAVY / Marine collector piece and one of the rare German badges. Our reference Detlev Niemann in "Price Guide. Orders and decorations Germany" 2004, page 41 put $1000 for that nice badge. Germany, WW I SILVER Bar to the 1914 Iron Cross, MARKED Beautiful SILVER bar marked "GEBR. GODET". It measures approx. 34mm by 13mm. This is a very nice example of a small enameled German Iron Cross. It may have been something that was worn by a WW1 German Iron Cross recipient on his watch fob. A scarce item in excellent condition. Recently the same badge on eBay was sold for $704. These badges were first authorized in early 1918. A certain number of war patrols were required to be eligible for one. This example is of the one-piece massive design, which is one of the more desirable WW I varieties. It has a fine gilt finish that is burnished with age. On the reverse is an excellent swollen pin.
